Black History Month Resources on the Web

As the first week of Black History Month comes to a close, we wanted to share a few of the online resources we've found.

• Black History Month free resources from Gale Thompson include a guide to black literature and dozens of biographies of famous African-Americans.
• Facts on the Black or African American Population from the U.S. Census Bureau: download official demographic information about the African-American population.
  
• NAACP Timeline from the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People: trace NAACP history from 1909 to present.
• The History Channel's Black History Month minisite includes video clips, biographies and texts of major speeches.
  

Finally, if you're on campus, you can check out an interview with UM professor and civil rights historian Wilson Fallin, Jr. Fallin appeared on the Division of Mass Communication's program MCC News to speak about Carter G.
